Nordic Cup - Women

On the weekend of 27-29 May 2022, the Nordic Cup was held in the Swedish town of Kolsva at the Guttsta Wicked Cricket Ground.

During the weekend, a total of six T20I matches were played, of which the Swedish team played five matches, the Norwegian four and the Danish three. The Swedes ended up undefeated, while the Danish team unfortunately lost all three matches. You can bet on cricket betting sites.

However, this did not affect the mood in the Danish camp, as the Danish squad had been looking forward to the weekend's matches with excitement and joy. Many had not played a full-strength cricket match for several years, while others in the squad had not even tried to play a match before.

Coaches Matt and Mojo were also keen to emphasize that the matches were not just about winning, either. It was just as much about gaining match experience and developing as a team. And this weekend's matches were a good step towards that. For although most of the women had met before and trained together at DCF's joint training sessions many times over the past year, this was the first time the Danish squad had performed as one team—and the sense of community was palpable. There were cheers and jeers for each other in training, during warm-ups and at matches. The more experienced players were also good at sharing experiences and giving advice to the newer ones, and after just three matches the team already seemed to have developed.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience to be part of, and a huge thank you must go to the Swedish and Norwegian teams for great matches and good humor, as well as a special thank you to the hospitable Swedish hosts; Guttsta Wicked Cricket Ground, who were on hand throughout the day to dispense delicious home-cooked dinners and suppers for all three teams.
